Green puritans

I’m with Trudie Styler on this. The essence of her position can be summmed up in one word: “offsetting”. Say I own 20 SUVs and fly privately once a week, for whatever reason, and I somehow manage to offset all the carbon I emmit and possibly even more. What’s wrong with my lifestyle other than bad taste (the SUVs)?

Don’t you just hate that system of automatic moralisation where the brain is trained to pick out certain words which immediately trigger the mouth to foam and the fist to wave in nauseating self-righteous glee? Shame on the Guardian for being so puritanical.
